An exploration of internal relationships and human connection ‘Portraits’ features a collection of identities and environments by twelve contemporary visual artists. Technicality and a range of mediums play a vital role in conceptually constructing the subjects’ distinct realities. From David Armi Putra’s intriguingly vibrant installation, to the bold nocturnal character studies of FilippoSciacia, the processes contribute a sense of expressive entirety.
The solitary state of each portrait emphasizes varying internal worlds. Unique narratives are apparent in the pieces. SalvitaDecorte’s characters pose a direct understanding of exposure, while MatteoBasilé’s subject in Lost Pintor is completely immersed in his surreal environment. Regardless of a sense (or lack) of awareness, each portrait communicates vulnerability that extends beyond their assigned individual truths.
The outcome is a dialogue between inner realities where personalities share their own unique sense of mortality.
